As I viewed through my transcipt and analysed it, I really felt unfairness.
Other than modules that I did on year 1 that has lousy grades, there are some module which the grade should be A. But some which are not A is acceptable. I mean, I know where I stand in that module.
There are some module which I didn’t really learn anything during the class. Most of it has been self-taught before class. And those are the module which I didn’t score A. If it’s other poly then, I would had gotten better grade than what I got.
Because RP’s grading system works on daily grades 40% and 60% on open-book tests. Those daily grades are given by human facilitators which tend to have biasness in their grading. Or either that which I’ve encountered, the facilitator did not know how much or how little you’ve done and just give you any grade he/she any how click.
It’s because of these, I hope the new system will work better. People asked me if I regretted entering RP, I told them YES. Although I like PBL system a lot as it really works for IT education - coding wise, but the grading part is the one that is really important and needs to be fair.
I would admit that there are times I’m really lazy in class. But does not prove that I’m not learning or have not learnt anything in class. I admit there are times when facilitator are just too fucked up to be obey with. Which in return, I’ve got lousy grade. But that grade means I’m not learning in class or did not read out the problem statement at the beginning of the day when I’m asked to do so?
This had taught me a lesson. Not to give in to temptation. The reason I want RP back then was to get my own laptop. Own configuration and seriously, learn through PBL. Because I seriously think it works for IT education and it really does. Just that you have to be a good boy in front of facilitators. So fellow juniors, read between the lines.
